The NFTS recognises that the rising cost of living can pose a significant barrier for students aspiring to pursue a career in the creative industries. Expenses such as accommodation, transport and daily living costs can quickly accumulate, making it difficult for students to afford the necessary resources and fully focus on their studies. Keeping these challenges front of mind, the NFTS has actively implemented practical solutions to alleviate the financial burden many students face. The School is committed to supporting its students with the introduction of various initiatives that offer meaningful help.

Some of these measures include:

  • A daily complimentary breakfast available for all students
  • Free tea and coffee available all day in communal areas of the School
  • Organic and environmentally sustainable sanitary products available for all students throughout the School, free of charge
  • The introduction of ‘Lunch Club’, a cost saving initiative offering students the chance to purchase four weeks’ worth of lunch time meals for the price of three

The NFTS recognises that the rising cost of living can pose a significant barrier for students aspiring to pursue a career in the creative industries.

Additionally, the NFTS offers more scholarship and bursary funding to British students, relative to the size of their student body, than almost any other educational institution in the UK. In the last year, 8 in 10 students received support, with more than £950,000 of funding given out in total. This financial assistance plays a crucial role in helping aspiring filmmakers to pursue their dreams without being hindered by financial constraints.
