Funding Available for Intensive Sports Production Training

The National Film and Television School and IMG, one of the leading independent producers of sports programming in the world, are excited to once again be offering a life-changing funding opportunity for the NFTS Sports Production Diploma.

The recipient of the funding will have their course fully funded by IMG, with the potential for some living expenses to also be covered.

The course, run in partnership with IMG, covers all major aspects of sports programming including filming, editing and scripting sports features, budgeting, developing and pitching and introduction to live events coverage. The comprehensive full-time one-year programme equips students with the vital skills required to take on Sports Producer roles with experience and confidence.

The next cohort will begin their training in January 2024. The course will be led by Tom Lewis, a major player in the sports programming industry with over 30 years’ international experience in sports television across a variety of sports from cricket to mountain biking, volleyball to table tennis.

IMG will select the applicant who will be from under-represented groups including those with disabilities, those from lower socio-economic backgrounds and people of colour. If you meet one or more of these criteria, please don’t hesitate to apply for the course. If your application is successful you will then be invited to apply for the scholarship.

The world of sports film, digital & television coverage is fast-growing and applications are now open to gain unrivalled training and behind the scenes experience of this exciting and creative industry.
