2018 is proving to be another bumper year for awards with our students once again doing us proud, netting a magnificent seven out of ten Postgraduate Royal Television Society Student Television Awards.

Chaired by Philip Edgar-Jones, Director of Sky Arts, hosted by Sky’s Head of Comedy, Jon Mountague and presented by comedian Jayde Adams, the awards, which took place on Friday 22nd June, recognise the best audiovisual work created by students across the UK and Republic of Ireland at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Awards are judged in six categories – Animation, Comedy & Entertainment, Drama, Factual, News and Short Feature.

The Postgraduate Comedy and Entertainment gong was won for the eighth time since 2010 by students who have recently graduated from the School’s Directing and Producing Television Entertainment MA. Saving Faith, directed by John Higgins and produced by Alex Dizer beat off stiff competition from fellow NFTS projects also nominated in the category.

Wild Horses directed by Rory A Stewart and directed by Rebecca Smith came out top in the Postgraduate Drama category while the Postgraduate Factual gong went to Acta Non Verba directed by recent NFTS Directing Documentary MA graduate, Yvann Yagchi.

The Postgraduate Short Feature award went to Cupid directed by Ian Robertson.
