Digital Village Phase I and II

Since the School was founded in 1971, our facilities at Beaconsfield Studios have served the students well, enabling us to train many talented film and television programme makers. But, in the last few years, we've reached a point where the outstanding quality of the training we offer is at risk of being compromised by the increasingly dilapidated state of our buildings.

This clearly has to be addressed urgently and so a modern new teaching block, with state-of-the-art facilities, has been built as the first stage in redeveloping the site. Already, this has allowed the School to expand its student intake and the number of courses run.

The new teaching block is the first step towards our long-term goal of redeveloping the whole site to create a national resource centre - the Digital Village - for the UK. Its facilities will be fully equipped with the latest technology for producing content for film, television and other moving image media. As a hub of creativity, it will be used to share ideas, talent and resources - a centre of excellence that will benefit students, the film and television industries and the creative industries as a whole.
