Howard Schuman
Howard Schuman is a screenwriter, and an American based in London since 1968. He has had 17 single plays plus a number of serials produced for British television including the incredibly successful Rock Follies, and Selling Hitler. He has also written several feature films, including Nervous Energy for the BBC in 1995, which played at film festivals around the world and starred Alfred Molina. Howard is also one of the UK’s most highly regarded film and television presenters. He fronted film review programme Moving Pictures from 1991-1996. He is currently working on a six part television serial in development with VERA (Rory Bremner's Company), and has two films in development: Normal Human Problems (Greenpoint) and Lifestyle (Vera). He also worked as a script consultant on Jasmin Dizdar’s Cannes-winning Beautiful People, and This Little Life, directed by NFTS graduate Sarah Gavron, a hugely successful BBC 2 film selected for Telluride and Toronto.
Howard has been a visiting tutor at the NFTS Screenwriting department for the past three years, as well as tutoring the NFTS post-graduation Franco-Brittanic screenwriting workshop, REGARDS CROISES, which presents its work every year at the Dinard British Film Festival.
