SFX/VFX Student disappears in the Large Hadron Collider

You may have problems finding NFTS SFX/VFX student Zsolt Balogh as he has temporarily disappeared into the Large Hadron Collider in Cern, Switzerland in an attempt to use it as the world’s longest water slide - at least on YouTube. All in the pursuit of the prize of £10,000 as part of the BarclayCard Waterslide Contest.

It is this playfulness, imagination, curiosity and willingness to explore new ways of making film that attracted Hammer Films to invest in the next generation of film-makers with three two-year scholarships. "Without Hammer Films' support, I would not be able to train at the School. The scholarship has allowed me to concentrate fully on the course without constantly having to worry about money. Apart from the financial benefits, there are so many other great opportunities of working with and learning from Hammer Films," says Zsolt.

Hammer is a great British institution and so is the NFTS,” said Simon Oakes, CEO of Exclusive Media, parent company of Hammer Films and Spitfire Pictures. “Over the decades, both have been the launch pad for many of the greatest practitioners in our film industry."
