Synopsis
Oksana is from Ukraine. She is blonde, has blue eyes, she’s 32 years old, has one son and works in a shop. She likes swimming, reading, music and likes to go to the theatre. She’s looking for a husband in Italy, between 40 and 60 years old, to create a family and be happy.
To make her dream come true, Oksana, like many others, has subscribed to Bettina’s Maruska international marriage agency. Through her website and online catalogue, Bettina works like a 21st Century Cupid, helping these women to find their perfect husband and move to Italy. The film follows various characters in their search for love, trying to understand what motivates each side to find their soulmate miles and miles from their country, and how each side has something to offer that they couldn’t find at home. A film about migration, cultural differences, racism, and the need to find love in 21st Century Italy.
